During an emergency, requiring the Ambulance Service, the emergency services staff are already in possession of instruction on how to find the building. This information is conveyed over the radio (by the emergency services staff to the ambulance staff). On accessing the building, the ambulance staff will retrieve a FOB and printed information describing how to access an individual apartment. This information has been optimised on the assumption that the person reading the instructions are not familiar with the building layout. The suggested paths have been tested and timed using participants unfamiliar with the building and found to be the fasted way to access specific apartments - particularly South Tower apartments during periods when large numbers of shoppers are attempting to use the lift.
